Text To Speech (TTS) Engines

Microsoft's SAPI 5 or later is required by the VoiceGuide Text to Speech modules. At this stage the only way to install SAPI 5 engine is to download the full release from Microsoft. Download SAPI 5.1 (147 MB) For more information on SAPI please visit: Microsoft main Speech site: www.microsoft.com/speech Microsoft SAPI 5.1 site: www.microsoft.com/speech/download/sdk51/ Microsoft includes a few free TTS voices with SAPI. Better quality TTS engines can be obtained separately from: AT&T Natural Voices  many languages ($35 hear and buy) Cepstral English, French, German, Spanish ($30 sold by Cepstral direct) NeoSpeech many languages ($35 hear and buy) Nuance Realspeak Solo many languages ($35 hear and buy) Prologix's Vaachak Hindi, Sanskrit, Marathi, Konkani GVZ Turkish Diaglo Applications designed to read very long TTS streams (over 5 minutes) would benefit from using TTS engines designed for this purpose, like Nuance Realspeak Telecom. Speech Recognition Engines

Any MRCPv2 compliant Speech Recognition engine can be used with VoiceGuide. We recommend using LumenVox or Nuance. Both LumenVox and Nuance can be purchased from our WWW order page. LumenVox is less expensive then Nuance, with the 1 line license priced at US$50.
